Agile Strategy Lab
The founder of the Purdue Agile Strategy Lab and now the Director of the Lab at the University of North Alabama, Ed’s work emphasizes the strategic value of focused regional collaborations and open innovation, network-based models in today’s global economy. He is co-author of Strategic Doing: 10 Skills for Agile Leadership.
Ed developed a new discipline called Strategic Doing to accelerate these collaborations that is now widely used across the U.S. and is now gaining attention internationally. His work won the first Arthur D. Little Award for excellence in economic development presented by the American Economic Development Council.
Prior to starting his economic development work, Ed worked for Telesis, a corporate strategy consulting firm. In this position, he served on consulting teams for clients such as Ford Motor Company, Volvo, and General Electric. He conducted manufacturing cost studies in the U.S., Japan, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Sweden, and France.
Ed started his professional career in Washington, D.C., where he has served as a legislative assistant to an Ohio Congressman, staff attorney in the Federal Trade Commission, and staff counsel in the US Senate. He holds a BA degree cum laude with honors from Yale University, MBA and JD degrees from the University of Virginia, and a PhD degree in economics from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Elizabeth (Liz) Nilsen (MBA) is senior program director of the Agile Strategy Lab at Purdue University. Her background includes leadership of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiatives at local, regional, and state levels, as well as work with a number of higher education change initiatives. Her nonprofit experience includes program design and management, fundraising, operations, and executive leadership. Liz has authored a number of research articles as well as publications for organizations seeking to address issues of community vitality.

Cornel Tașcu graduated The Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and an executive management program at ESCP Business School (Paris, Europe).
Before starting his career at Renault Group Romania, Cornel Tașcu held various positions within Nortel Networks France. He joined Automobile Dacia in 2003, where he was in charge of Organization and Reengineering of processes, customs flows and spare parts for a period of three years. In 2005, he became the Systems client manager for the after-sales and service activity within Renault Commercial Romania, and a year later, in 2006, he took over as the Head of the Information Systems Organization department for the company's support functions.
Since 2010, he has held the position of Head of the Organization and Information Systems Department for the entire industrial platform from Mioveni, and in 2014 he was appointed Head of the Information Systems synergy implementation project for the Euromed-Africa region. From September 2014, Cornel Tașcu took over the role of Director with the Renault Romania and Renault Turkey Information Systems Division.
Pierre is the Economic and Economical Counsellor for the Belgium Embassy, competent for Wallonia, Brussels and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. He covers 4 countries of the region (Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and North Macedonia).
Its primary mission is to support companies based in Wallonia, Brussels and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in their international business development. Its market prospection support consists of annually more than 150 trade promotion initiatives in 70 countries and 30 sectors. Awex is also a one-stop shop for foreign companies that has the project to invest at the heart of Europe.
Pierre holds a Master of Law from UCL (Catholic University of Louvain), Belgium. He also holds the title of Associate Professor of Law. Before working abroad for Awex, Pierre worked as a lawyer for the Brussels Bar. His career with Awex has taken him all around the world, in Africa, the Middle East, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe. His outside interests are travelling, outdoor activities, gastronomy and socializing.
Leila has a wide experience in strategic management, digital transformation and business development, advising companies on digital transformation, tech solutions and strategies that can help build a more sustainable business, with the human component and talent at the centre of the digitalization process.
Over the past 10 years she has developed markets and a network of international partners through new strategies in the IT sector. She is an advocate of a new commercial model, that focuses more on helping, building trust and not selling. Therefore, she is working with CONNECTS towards achieving a B4B (business for business) approach and platform, where businesses can grow stronger together, become more sustainable and also as a teacher of new business models at the Master in Industry 4.0 and digital transformation strategy within Universidad Europea Madrid.
With a Business Economics PhD in innovative methodology from the European University in Madrid in 2016, and a second PhD in Communication, focusing on communication and marketing strategies, from Malaga University in 2022, she is researching and publishing on topics like digital transformation, strategic management and marketing, sustainable business models.

Cătălin Renghea joined Public Affairs Solutions as Government Relations Associate in April 2021. He has begun his career in 2014 with an internship at the Ministry of Economy, Department of Energy, for a period of 6 months.
Afterwards, he made his way to the Romanian Parliament, Chamber of Deputies and Senate, working closely with key decision makers at the top of Romanian politics. In 2020 he joined the team of the Romanian Government, coordinating projects in the field of culture.
Cătălin developed a political career in the activity of the main center-right party in Romania. He worked directly with the party president, by exercising the position of President of the Youth Organization of a one of the most important branches in Bucharest.

He has strong professional results in the development and management of "turn-key "energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste to energy (or waste to fuels), industrial utilities and environmental projects, working within multinational companies like Shell Gas Romania, Butagaz – France, Lukoil Romania and Veolia Romania. Adrian has relevant practical experience covering the entire process of due-diligence for industrial activities, energy audits and financial analyses required for energy efficiency and energy renewable investment projects, including ‘Build-Own-Operate-Transfer’ (BOOT) contracts for cogeneration units or several ESCO contracts with industrial companies from Romania.

Andrej Vrbančič is a specialist in the field of OPC communication platforms and Intesis communication interfaces for building automation at INEA RBT, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
During his industry business career, he dealt with production planning, controlling and management.
Through Robotina Company, his business journey also brought him to India, where he was faced with the transfer of technology and running a JV company.
During his business journey, he got to know IT and production-logistics processes, various industrial and cultural environments, the world of automation and business in an international environment. Digitization of production factory processes is the latest passion.

Andrei Horhoianu has an overall experience of 12+ years in engineering and operations. Before starting his career at Enel X, Andrei held various technical positions in Romania and abroad.
Since January 2018, Andrei is Head of Operations & Engineering Department for B2B Enel X business unit, leveraging his extensive experience and know-how in project management and operational excellence. He oversees managing the operational activities of the department in order to achieve the business objectives of Enel X.
