Michael Langfinger is Cybersecurity Product Owner for ctrlX AUTOMATION at Bosch Rexroth. He develops secure, resilient and user-friendly solutions for industrial automation, with a strong focus on ctrlX OS, established IT standards and regulatory requirements such as the Cyber Resilience Act.

Michael Langfinger is the Cybersecurity Product Owner for the real-time-capable, industrial Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS at Bosch Rexroth in Lohr am Main. Together with his team, he develops the security framework as well as dedicated security applications for a wide range of use cases. His overarching goal is to develop innovative, highly user-friendly, and easily integrable solutions that make the world of automation sustainably more secure and at the same time address the challenges introduced by legislative frameworks like the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). In doing so, he places particular emphasis on leveraging established IT standards rather than reinventing the wheel. He not only applies this expertise to his projects but also actively shares it through specialist presentations and at industry events.

 

At FACTORY 4.0, Michael Langfinger will join Panel 4, “IoT & Cybersecurity for Smart Industry: Securing the Nervous System of Modern Manufacturing.” He will contribute his expertise in industrial cybersecurity, secure automation architectures and regulatory compliance, with a focus on protecting the connected systems that support modern manufacturing.
