Bianca Muntean

Bianca believes that innovation begins with people — and that collaboration is the key to meaningful change. This belief has guided her work for over 25 years across some of the most impactful innovation initiatives in Romania and beyond.

She is the co-founder and Cluster Manager of Transilvania IT, bringing extensive experience in building and strengthening innovation ecosystems.

Bianca is also the founder and coordinator of Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub, the European Digital Innovation Hub for Transylvania and Romania's first digital innovation hub officially recognized by the European Commission and selected as part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network. She serves as an ESIR expert (Expert Group on the Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation) and previously led RO-DIH, the national Association of Digital Innovation Centres in Romania.

Widely recognized as one of the most influential voices in innovation, digitalization, and digital transformation at both regional and national levels, Bianca also serves as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Estonia in Cluj. She is an active member of several advisory boards and expert councils supporting digital transformation initiatives at the local, national, and European levels.

In 2017, Bianca received the Open Innovation Award from the Open Innovation Strategy and Policy Group of the European Commission.

Two years later, in 2019, she was named EU Cluster Manager of the Year by DG GROW for her cross-sectoral coordination efforts across Europe.

Throughout her career, collaboration has remained the driving force behind Bianca’s efforts to create meaningful, systemic change across society and the economy.

At FACTORY 4.0, Bianca will join Panel 3, “AI-Driven Robotics & Intelligent Automation: From Data to Competitive Advantage,” where she will contribute insights into collaborative innovation, digital transformation and the development of ecosystems that help organizations turn technology into sustainable economic and societal value.
