Ioan Dragos Dimitriu<\/b><\/span><\/h1><\/div>
Ioan-Drago\u0219 Dimitriu is a Romanian pianist born in Bra\u0219ov in 1991, who made his international debut in 2011 at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall performing Beethoven\u2019s \u201cEmperor\u201d Concerto No. 5. He began studying piano at the age of six with Prof. Corina Ib\u0103nescu and went on to win over twenty first prizes and five Grand Prizes in national and international competitions. His accolades include recognition at Eurovision Young Musicians and victories at competitions in Portugal and Italy.<\/div><\/header>
<\/div>

He pursued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under the guidance of renowned professors Martin Hughes and Stefan Arnold. As both a soloist and chamber musician, he has received top prizes in prestigious international contests such as the Pietro Argento International Piano Competition and the Cameristi dell\u2019Alpe Adria Competition. His artistry has taken him to major concert halls across Europe, where he is praised for his expressive power and refined technique.<\/p>\n

Beyond his career as a performer, Ioan-Drago\u0219 has established himself as an organizer and cultural entrepreneur. He founded Aegeria Artists Management in Vienna, launched the Transylvanian International Piano Competition in Bra\u0219ov, and created the Ton der Jugend Symphony Orchestra, which offers young musicians the opportunity to perform in some of Vienna\u2019s most celebrated venues, including the Musikverein and Konzerthaus.<\/p>\n

In recent years, he has expanded his impact in Romania\u2019s cultural life. Since 2020, he has served as Manager of the Bra\u0219ov Philharmonic Orchestra, where he has overseen innovative projects and expanded its artistic reach. In 2022, he initiated the \u201cCulture Bank Apollonia\u201d project, which developed into the Apollonia Cultural Centre, and he now contributes as Development and Innovation Director for the SoNoRo Festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>
