Valentin Andrei Avram<\/b><\/span><\/h1><\/div>
Dr. Marius Andrei Avram is the Technical Director and Principal Investigator at the National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies (IMT) in Bucharest. He has been part of the institute since 2005, advancing from researcher to laboratory leader and scientific coordinator. Currently, he heads the Laboratory for Carbon-Based Nanotechnologies and Nanostructures, where he drives innovative research at the intersection of materials science, microelectronics, and nanotechnology.<\/div><\/header>
<\/div>

He holds a Master\u2019s degree in Plasma Physics and a PhD in Electrical Engineering, academic achievements that laid the foundation for his interdisciplinary expertise.<\/p>\n

Dr. Avram\u2019s research covers a wide range of cutting-edge areas, including microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), plasma processing, thin-film technologies, micro- and nanofluidics, and reactive ion etching. A particular focus of his work is the development and integration of graphene and other carbon-based materials into advanced sensors and microsystems. His contributions have led to new methods and applications in fields such as biomedical engineering, smart devices, wireless systems, and the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n

Through his leadership at IMT, Dr. Avram has coordinated numerous national and international research projects, fostering collaboration between academia and industry. He has published extensively in prestigious journals and is credited with patents that demonstrate the practical value of his work. By combining scientific rigor with a vision for applied innovation, he continues to strengthen Romania\u2019s role in the global micro- and nanotechnology community, while inspiring the next generation of researchers.<\/p>\n<\/div>
