He holds a PhD in Energy Engineering and graduated as valedictorian of the Hydropower Engineering Department, Faculty of Power Engineering at the University Politehnica of Bucharest. He pursued an international master’s degree in English at the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble in France, then joined Europe’s largest energy producer, Électricité de France (EDF), where he completed a three-year industrial PhD thesis in French, developing a new method to estimate the costs and reliability of power plant equipment — completing his education across three different languages.
With a deep understanding of the evolving energy landscape and the complexity of the sector, Olivian now works as Technical Manager at Nano Energies Romania, where he is pioneering aggregation and ancillary services in the private sector. Previously, he served as a senior regulatory specialist, energy advisor, and board member for several energy startups.
In 2023, his impact was recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 Romania, naming him among the country’s most influential young leaders.
In 2025, Olivian was elected to join Global FEL-WEC, the World Energy Council’s global network of the most promising young leaders in energy, and was appointed Young Energy Ambassador by the European Commission, representing Romania alongside 30 peers from across Europe.
