
Doru – Claudian Frunzulică enjoys a prominent national and international profile, with extensive contributions in diplomacy, international cooperation and the Romanian economic landscape. His international engagements include his tenure as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and the Romanian Parliament (MP), with extensive expertise on defense, security and foreign affairs, playing a pivotal role in Romania’s representation within NATO parliamentary delegations. He has also contributed to significant global initiatives as part of his work with the European Union and NATO, showcasing his ability to navigate complex geopolitical landscapes effectively.
Over the past 40 years, Mr. Frunzulică held various top management and high official positions (4 times Secretary of State for defense, foreign investment/foreign trade and labor) within the public and private sector, managing a wide range of project development areas, including defense, foreign trade, FDI facilitation or European affairs.
Doru – Claudian Frunzulică owns a Bachelor degree in Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and a PhD in Economics at the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest.
In recognition of his distinguished service, Doru – Claudian Frunzulică was awarded the Order for Merit (Ordinul pentru Merit) with the rank of Knight in 2022. This honor reflects his outstanding contributions to the country in various capacities, from economic development to international representation and national defense and security.
His set goal as the acting President of the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade is to have the country highly positioned on the international map of foreign investment and trade as the leading FDI recipient and export partner in the region.
